“Reading makes immigrants of us all. It takes us away from home, but more important it finds homes for us everywhere" (Rochman, 1993).

This four-month book club series for adults and teenagers will have participants reading books representing four different ethnic/cultural groups in America. These books are not meant to be the authoritative source representing all individuals of a culture, but serve as a unique glimpse into the struggles that arise in trying to retain cultural/ethnic identity in America.

October's book is "I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter" by Erika L. Sánchez.

Sign-up today! Limited copies available.
Some copies available in Spanish, discussion conducted in English.

*Book has occurrences of: Suicide attempt, depression, anxiety, grief, death, mention of sexual assault, emotional abuse, self-harm, anorexia
