Local pianist, composer and music theorist, Michael Staff, will present an audio history of classical music.

A former mathematics major, Michael uses abstract maths in his compositions, and his recent album Dreams of a Somnambulist earned him a Global Music Award. Mr. Staff is of the pedagogical lineage of Haydn through his teacher and mentor Robert Hennekes, and carries a tradition of counterpoint and serious composition in his works. As a pianist, Michael has earned several international awards for his interpretations of Bach's Art of Fugue and Chopin's opus 10 etudes, including a second Global Music Award and a Carnegie Hall debut in November 2018. All music lovers are encouraged to attend this lecture.
