Popular lecturer Michael Scofield presents an exciting Power Point show on the world’s lighthouses. There are very few coastal points around the world that do not have one. The southern-most tip of Africa has a lighthouse funded by the merchants of Bombay (now Mumbai), India. They had a financial interest in the trading ships making it around the Cape of Good Hope safely. Includes an introduction to navigational aids and the history of light sources, as well as east and west coast U.S. lighthouses, and those on the Great Lakes.
