Chad Hanson, Ph.D., a research ecologist with the John Muir Project, will present a talk on the post-fire effects of logging on wildlife habitat, including the California Spotted Owl. He will discuss the ecology of forest fires, fire management resources for community protection, vegetation management, logging, backcountry fire suppression. Chad is co-founder and principle ecologist with the John Muir Project. The John Muir Project was founded after witnessing the devastation on our national forests while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
