Ben Hudson, patent agent, will be at the Canyon Lake Library to provide a general explanation of the patent process and to answer questions from the audience.  Patent is the registered protection for inventions.  If you have ever thought "I had that idea" but never followed through on it as a product, come to this free informational presentation and see what is involved.  You could have another great idea that might need to be patented.

Ben is an experienced Patent Agent with a particular knowledge of mechanical, electrical, computer, and chemical patents. He has filed patent applications for national and international clients and prepares responses to office actions from the Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, he has experience in patent and trademark searches, preparing appeal briefs, and infringement analysis. 

Regarding his technical background, Ben has experience in analog circuit design, analog to digital conversion, hands-on design and construction of mechanical and electrical components for physics experiments, spectroscopy, lasers and optical systems, electrical and mechanical schematics, ion and plasma sources, vacuum systems, and high-voltage systems.  He has also performed computational physics simulations in several high-level languages.
