You and a friend read TWO BOOKS each during the month of May and enter for a chance to win a FREE LUNCH, on us! Sign up at Coachella Library beginning May 7th and choose either… two books from our book list, OR two hot off the press books, OR two new books . This reading challenge is for adults only, and books must be finished by May 31st at 6pm, so get social and start reading!
Come enroll in the nutrition classes provided by the University of California Cooperative Extension "Eating Smart-Being Active" Classes will be in the Highgrove Library each Thursdays: staring May 3, 2018. You will learn from six simple lessons how to eat and stay healthy. Classes are on Thursdays and are free of cost!!!! Every week is a new lesson with different incentives; receive incentives like recipes, kitchen ware, exercise book, and recipe book. What you will learn? How to keep your family and yourself healthy and active, how to save money in the grocery store, how to select nutrient dense foods for better nutrition. Program Topic: Get Moving!, Portions, Plan, Shop, Save, Fruits & veggies: Half Your Plate, Make Half Your Grains Whole, Build Strong Bodies: Milk & Protein , Make A Change Celebrate! Eat Smart and Be Active. At the end of the class you will receive a graduation certificate and "Walk Indoors" DVD when you complete the program from the University of California--EFNEP PROGRAM (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources).
Come join us at the Highgrove Library for Pre-School Story time with Miss Hannah starting at 11:30am, there will be Stories, songs and a fun coloring craft will be provided. This is a fun program for toddlers and their parents or caregivers. Ages 0-5.
Come join us for a fun and exciting new dance program at the Highgrove library. Dance Revolution is a fun and challenging game. This game comes with different songs and settings. Children at the ages from seven to twelve will be able to choose what setting that they are comfortable with and what song they want to dance to. There is the beginner setting, basic setting and difficult setting. Come join us and get ready to get up and dance to your heart content.
Teens ages 13-17 can work on homework, watch a video, or play a game. Research assistance and tech help available from the Teen Librarian.
